Conduction: LIVE with Density512 and Liminal Sound Series showcases the weird, beautiful, and spontaneous world of Conduction, a vocabulary of conducted gestures for improvising ensembles developed by Butch Morris, in live performances by members of Density512 and the Liminal Sound Series from two concerts spanning from 2018-2020.

The first half of the album features tunes conducted by Kenzie Slottow with prompts suggested by a live audience of Density512 community members (Go Time, Metal May Melt, Puppies May Pant, Beyond, and Duck Pond). The second half is one long take (Unit 1) conducted by the late J.A. “Dino” Deane, a close collaborator Butch Morris himself, who brought Conduction into our community through his residencies with the Liminal Sound Series.
